OUR COMMITMENT TO THE COMMUNITY

Led by the Spirit, we will move forward together towards diversity, inclusion, and antiracism within The Salvation Army Central Territory.

We Are an Organization Dedicated to Doing the Most Good in your community.

Who we Are

The Salvation Army of Benton Harbor believes, as stated in Genesis 1:26 of the scriptures, that all persons are created in the image of God. With that truth clearly in mind, we commit to modeling, teaching, fostering, serving, and sensitively implementing sincere and intentional inclusion, equity, and racial diversity in all facets of our ministry.

At The Salvation Army, we are dedicated to Doing the Most Good. We are made up of thousands of officers, soldiers, staff, volunteers, donors, and partners working together to holistically meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of our most vulnerable neighbors. We do this through programs designed to combat homelessness and hunger, provide safe spaces for kids after school and on the weekends, achieve and maintain sobriety, and give hope to the hopeless. The Salvation Army Great Lakes provides these services to people in need throughout greater Michigan. The Salvation Army in Benton Harbor is a part of the Great Lakes Division, and provides a variety of services to people in need in our community.

The Salvation Army is a nonprofit, tax-exempt charitable organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Donations are tax-deductible as allowed by U.S. law.

Mission Statement
The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.
